I have switched my title and my url so now i can recieve all your responses back to my following questions. I just finished one of my programs to become a teacher, and i was wondering what you think the five most important support systems you feel you need to become a highly successful teacher? Also, i am changing my major into secondary education so i was wondering if anyone was in that field and what approaches you are taking to become a secondary education teacher?

The five most important support systems needed to become a successful teacher- 1. The support of your family and friends. I feel that you need a strong support system around you to be at full strength to enter the battle zone that is the classroom. 2. Yourself. You need to be fully committed to getting the most out of your students every single day. 3.The support of the school administration/faculty. 4. The support of your students' parents. Involved parents make for better students. That is just my opinion on 4 of the most important support systems needed.- Ryan Huels

I feel theat the most important support systems you could have would be:

Family
Friends
Your students
Mentor
A teaching network/organization

I feel that family is important because they know you the best and they can remind you of what you are capable of even when you dont think so. The same with friends as well. Your students are also equally important because it is them who you are ultimately trying to reach and they could also remind you of why you decided to become a teacher. I feel that a mentor is good to have because they are a 'veterans' in education and you can learn a lot from them. It is also good to join an organization with teachers who are dedicated to the advancement and enhancement of education so that you can learn from them and everyone can share ideas.
